Rockman.EXE on the Silver Screen- A look back at the Movie: "Rockman.EXE Hikari to Yami no Isan"

Back in March of 2005 Rockman.EXE hit movie theatres in Japan. It was part of a double feature with the Duel Masters movie. The movie takes place in the stream storyline between episodes 27 and 29. When you went to see the movie you would recieve an exclusive Forte Cross Rockman E-reader card for the GBA game Rockman.EXE 5 Team of Blues and/or Team of Colonel. Though it is not a full length feature film it is well worth watching. There is alot of action in this 50 minute film.

Here are exerpts a summary on Rockman.EXE Online:
"Deep in the dark recesses of the UnderNet, Forte sleeps as he drifts aimlessly. In this cybernetic graveyard, a pulsating power re-awakens Forte, alerting him to a dangerous being shortly ahead. A haunting face appears amidst a massive bright purple blob, laughing directly at Forte. Cursing him, Forte finds himself powerless as the blob takes form, and captures him within its grasp! Nearing the time of sunset, a peaceful city and its people go about their everyday business. Curious bystanders on a sidewalk glimpse a shimmering purple light, which suddenly expands into tall pillar that reaches up to the sky. Screams erupt from the people as the pillar of light takes flight, absorbing everything in its destructive path. A tower clock dings the hour of 4 o'clock as the pillar desintigrates, leaving behind a trail of cybernetic residue and utter emptyness. At a bustling amusement park, Netto and Rockman are participating in a Net Battling tournament. Rockman is faced up against an opponent by the name of Footman, while Netto operates against the navi's small owner, Minarai. It doesn't take long for Rockman to lay an onslought of attacks upon Footman, and soon enough he's declared victorious. In the middle of the sea, a large tanker boat is heading towards shore. Before it can reach home however, another bright pillar of light tears right through the middle of it, leaving behind only a wreckage of destruction. The pillar of digital light doesn't stop there - it continues right on to the mainland. Citizens flee in terror of the unknown threat, as it digitizes absolutely everything it comes into contact with. As the pillar fades away, a series of engraved symbols where it had travelled its path can be seen from a bird's eye view above the city.

Inside the Science Labs, Yuuichirou Hikari and Meijin are analyzing the latest attacks. Meijin reveals that the same occurances have created havoc in Ameroupe and Kingland. It is labeled as a "large-scale dematerialization phenomenon". Yuuichirou requests a close-up look of the damage on their moniter, and realizes that everything the pillars have touched have been transformed into network data.

A sudden realization triggers a thought in Yuuichirou's memory, and he demands a satellite view of the Earth. As they wait for the image to download, Yuuichirou begins to feel very troubled. Could it possibly be what he fears? As soon as the image uploads to the monitor, Yuuichirou's eyes widen in shock.
"Spectrum...." he whispers, "....the Wily Program has begun operation!" Yuuichirou is working diligantly at the computers, asking for all information on Trinity Brain. By his side, Meijin is absolutely clueless as to what is going on. It appears that Spectrum was only a fabled rumor, said to have the power to perfectly manipulate the real world and cyberworld. Meijin demands some answers, but Yuuichirou is too busy to give any at the moment.

Indeed, even more attacks are springing up once again! Choina is now under attack by the pillars of light, its people fleeing in terror. Yuuichirou asks if his son has arrived at Trinity Tower yet, but it appears the poor boy is stuck in traffic. Becoming too impatient to wait for his taxi to get there in time, Netto pays the taximan then runs from the car. Netto clips on his rollar blades, then zips through the streets, apologizing to anyone in his way.

Rockman guides him through a shortcut, leading him ever closer to Trinity Tower. Meanwhile, Netto's PET begins to ring again, signaling another call from his father. Rockman answers for him, allowing Yuuichirou to instruct them to plug-in directly into Trinity Brain once they reach the tower. Finally, Yuuichirou tells his son that the world is being threatened by a wide-scale dematerialization phenomenon. Once Netto can plug Rockman into the Trinity Brain system, he must then destroy the Hikari Tadashi Program. It appears this is the only way to stop the Wily Program's Spectrum.Netto arrives at last at Trinity Tower, and issues his Net Savior liscense to the receptionist as he plugs Rockman directly into their system. The men controlling the Trinity Brain system notice the intruder at once, and prepare to stop him at all costs. Inside the cyber world, Rockman runs forward until he reaches the security firewall. Normally a Net Savior would need a commission to pass through, but there's simply not enough time. Netto decides that Rockman must instead forcibly break through it.

In the control center, the men activate the security system inside the firewalled area. The cheif is suddenly notified of a call from the Net Police, where Commissioner Kifune comes into contact. Kifune begins to fill the men in on the dire situation they have been placed in.
At the Science Labs, Yuuichirou is closely watching their progress on his monitors. One of the other attendants quickly alerts Yuuichirou to an alarm - another intruder is quickly approaching Rockman from behind! Indeed, Rockman is quickly taken over by the emense amount of energy, and both himself and the intruder crash into the final destination below.

Slowly the smoke begins to clear, and we see the mass amount of ruble and destruction from their impact. Rockman painfully gathers his bearings as he leans against a pile of rock, with no knowledge of who or what struck him. As he looks forward, Rockman suddenly reels in shock at the sight of his opponent - it's Forte!

An eerie purple glow is cast upon Forte's dead set eyes and the star jewel upon his helmet. Yuuichirou and Meijin don't understand how Forte could be before them, when Slur had thrown him down into the depths of UnderNet. Rockman struggles to his feet, clutching a wounded arm, and murmers Forte's name. The blood thirsty navi leaps forward, thrusting out his "
Dark Arm Blade!" with both arms as he goes in directly for the kill.

Seeing no choice but to fight, Netto slots in the Samurai Sword chip, allowing Rockman to par against the incoming attacker. Rockman throws Forte back, yelling at him to not interfere with their mission. Forte remains silent, but flings off a blast of an attack instead as his answer. Yuuichirou yells at Netto that there isn't enough time left, forcing Netto to go further and use the Search Soul Unison chip, so Rockman has better aim at his foe. It fails. Forte attacks and Search Soul is dissolved. But before Forte can land a final blow Rockman is saved by Colonel.
With Forte now distracted, Rockman is free to continue his mission to the core of the Trinity Brain system. However, their time is quickly running out. The pillars of light have now appeared in Densan City - right where Netto is! Rockman finally reaches the core, where he finds the magnificant Hikari Tadashi Program glittering before him. Netto stares at it, stunned by its pure glamour, until his father reminds him that he has to destroy it.

Coming back to reality, Netto instructs his navi that they will rely upon a Program Advance to do the job. Coming back to the very first Program Advance they ever mastered, Netto slots in the Sword, Wide Sword and Long Sword chips. Rockman raises his hands to the sky as a beautiful glowing sword appears at his fingertips. Yelling out "
Dream Sword!", Rockman grasps the sword, and flings its enormous power straight at the program itself.

Forte and Colonel burst into the room, just in time to see the program be struck head on by Rockman's attack. Netto watches momentarily as the shards break apart, but is suddenly alerted when screams begin to sound from nearby. The pillars of light are advancing! Netto quickly closes the holographic screen on his PET, and begins to run away. As the boy is fleeing, a feminine yell gains his attention from behind, and he turns just in time to see the receptionist dissolved right into the bright light!

Deep in the cyberworld, Rockman stares at another great amount of light which is now arising from where the Hikari Tadashi Program had once been harbored. Above in the sky, a familiar laugh booms out. "
That light!", exclaims Forte, who seems to have come back to his senses at last. "After my fight with Slur....when I was floating in the UnderNet, that light...."

Forte falls silent as the light expands, filling their vision. A gigantic and terrorific beast rises from the depths, bound in chains yet still undeniably powerful. Shielding his eyes, Forte names the new foe who now stands before them, "
Nebula Grey!"

As the beast increases its power, Colonel states that it is now far too dangerous to stay. One by one the navis plug out, just before Nebula Gray decimates the entire Trinity Brain system. In the real world, Netto is staring at a wall of pure cybernetic data, left behind by the pillars of light. "
What in the hell is Nebula Grey?", he wonders frantically.
Forte screams as he dives straight in at his opponent, but Rockman calmly calls upon his Scope Gun to snipe Forte right through his chest. Or....so it seemed, as Forte's body dissappears, and his cloak floats harmlessly to the ground. Netto yells out to look behind him, and sure enough, Forte is there. It's now Rockman's turn to scream as Forte slices right through him with his Hell's Rolling attack at near point blank range. Yuuichirou is holding a conference with Netto, Meijin, Commissioner Kifune and Manabe. Since their situation has become dire thanks to Nebula Grey's release, he feels it is best to enlighten everyone on what is exactly happening. Yuuichirou explains that 20 years ago, his father Tadashi Hikari was researching the method of linking human thought and emotions to a digital network. This revolutionary system was to be called "Spectrum", which may sound familiar.

He was successful in transforming living organisms into data, allowing them to run freely in the cyberworld. Yuuichirou explains that after witnessing the data patterns that the destructive pillars of light created, the program behind the attack was indeed "Spectrum". This special program acheives its power by combining two very specific programs: the "Hikari Tadashi Program" and the "Wily Program". When these two programs are fully combined, Spectrum is powered up to 100%. When this happens, everything the program comes in contact with will be automatically transformed into digital data.

Yuuichirou then reveals that Dr. Wily once worked alongside his father, in a collaboration for the Spectrum program. During this time, Wily accepted a contract from the Ameroupe army, allowing him to pursue other uses for "Spectrum". However, after Wily left, the main project was broken up and abandoned. The Hikari Tadashi Program was placed under a new sponsor, and was reconfigured to be the main core of the Trinity Brain system. Yuuichirou believes that Tadashi would have known that something like this may come to pass in the future, so he made sure that the initial Hikari Tadashi Program was incomplete. Nebula Grey, which had been trapped inside Spectrum all this time, would eventually try to gain its own ultimate power. When this happens, the entire world would be turned completely digital, then warped into a giant cyberspace.

Even those the situation looks bleak, Yuuichirou reminds them that they still have enough time to destroy Nebula Grey. He then asks of Commissioner Kifune to pin-point the location of the Wily Program, so they may find Nebula Grey's initial source of power. Kifune agrees to do so, but he wonders how they will take care of the beast once they find it. For that task, Netto claims all responsibility.

Netto swears he will save his friends, and looks down to his PET for his navi's agreement. However, Rockman is brooding too deeply to pay attention. Netto asks what could be bothering him so much. Rockman looks up, and mentions a time when Forte had been seeking his Ultimate Program, to become more powerful. "
What if I give Forte my ultimate program....then we could defeat Nebula Grey-"

"
What the hell are you saying?!", Netto blurts out. "If you lose your Ultimate Program, you'd disappear!"

The two begin to argue, but a sudden rumbling in the ground interrupts them. The room's attendants step back in shock as dimensional converters begin to appear out of nowhere! In the center of the room, a new pillar of purple light erupts, and a familiar form appears in its midst. That booming laugh sounds out again - it's Dr. Regal!

Netto yells out as Regal quickly grabs hold of Yuuichirou, ensnaring him in his unyielding grasp. The doctor's glasses clink to the floor as he struggles against Regal's arm, unable to break free. Netto glares at his father's captive, stating that he and Rockman had defeated him back during the time of Nebula's reign. Regal confirms it, but explains that his body had simply turned to data instead of being destroyed, and was cast down into the UnderNet.

However, thanks to this incident, Regal came into contact with the dormant Wily Program, which had been lost in the UnderNet as well. Fusing his own body's data with the program, Nebula Grey was born! Because Regal is in sense Nebula Grey's very own core, he is still not yet complete. He needs the remaining portions of the Hikari Tadashi Program in order to complete his evolution, for which he will need Yuuichirou's assitance. Ordering Yuuichirou to return with him, a bright glowing light envelopes both of them. Netto screams out to his father in despair, but Yuuichirou only orders his son to hurry and destroy Nebula Grey for the sake of the world. Netto reaches out to him, but the two men only dissappear as the light fades. With not only his friends gone, but now his father as well, Netto collapses to his knees, yelling out "
Papa!" one last time. "

Can Netto Stop Regal from activating Nebula Grey's full power and the demateralization of the entire world? One way to find out...

let's look at the trailer for the movie (it is in Japanese):

A Look Back: MegaMan Battle Network 5 Double Team DS

With Rockman.EXE Operate Shooting Star coming to the DS, I decided to take a look back at the first and only other EXE title to make its way to the Nintendo DS: Rockman.EXE 5 DS: Twin Leaders (NA/EU/AU title: MegaMan Battle Network 5 Double Team DS). This title included both versions of EXE 5 from the Gameboy Advance, Team of Blues (NA/EU/AU title: Team ProtoMan) and Team of Colonel (NA/EU/AU title: Team Colonel) with DS exclusive features.
Game Info:
Title Japan/Asia: "Rockman.EXE 5 DS Twin Leaders"
Title NA/EU/AU: "MegaMan Battle Network 5-Double Team DS"
Style: Action RPG
Developer/Producer: Capcom Japan- Capcom Production Studio 3
English Translation for North America: Capcom USA
Translation for Europe: Capcom Europe
Platform: Nintendo DS
Release Date Japan: July 21, 2005
Release Date North America: November 1, 2005
Release Date Europe: April 13, 2006
Release Date Austrailia: April 12, 2007

Let's look back at some of the DS Exclusive features:

  • Party Battle System: This feature give you the opportunity to support MegaMan by installing 2 of your teammates into your PET. This is called Group (or Party) Battle. You can install party cust programs that are also exclusive to the game. These programs have "P." before the actual name of the program (programs look like this: "P.Atk +5", "P. HP +100", "P.Support"). You can switch out your navi up to 3 times in one battle (unless you install a program in your navi customizer that increase the number). With this system, if used right, you can keep MegaMan out of danger and be tough to beat.

  • Interactive PET menu on the touch screen: It is modeled after the Progress PET Menu screen from the anime Rockman.EXE Stream. Access you battlechip folder, look at your library, map out your way through the internet, battle friends wirelessly, check Lan's Emails, Customize MegaMan and your "Party Battle" Navis, and touch MegaMan to ask for advice (or hear a joke if you have "Humor" installed in the NaviCustomizer). During battle you can call upon the teammates you installed in your Party Battle System (unless otherwise stated by Lan or MegaMan). When in the real world playing as Lan, a 3-D image of MegaMan (or Colonel or ProtoMan when Nebula kidnaps MegaMan) will appear on the touch screen in either normal form, Dark form (if you use darkchips), Bass Cross form (if you have a gba BN5 with the Bass Icon on the title screen in the GBA port of your DS), or Sol Cross form (if you have the gba game Boktai 2: Solar Boy Django in the gba port).

  • Data Transmission: Are you a fan of the Battle Network Series? If the answer is yes this feature is for you. If you have Battle Networks 1-4 slotted in there will be special occurances in game and remixed versions of that game's battle music. If you have a BN 5 game slotted in you can transfer your in-game folder from your GBA version to the either version on your DS. Also if your BN5 GBA game has the Bass Icon on the title screen you can battle in Bass Cross in MegaMan Battle Network 5 DS(Gold Version for TP and Silver for TC). When Jacked out a 3-D model of Bass Cross will appear on your PET. Bass Cross is always active as long as BN5 TC or TP remain in the GBA slot. When you get this cross, an anonymous person will send you an email talking about the cross. Also if you have Konami's Boktai 2 Solar Boy Django you unlock something special...
^Bass Cross MegaMan (Bass + MegaMan synthesis)
  • Sol Cross MegaMan: A Battle Network 5 DS exclusive Cross Soul, it can only be obtained by having Boktai 2: Solar Boy Django slotted in to the GBA slot. When this soul is obtained you will get an anonymous message (like with Bass Cross). MegaMan's charge shot changes to GunDelSol. If you jacked in from an outdoor location (ie the speaker system at Oran Isle) a sun will appear in the upper left hand corner of virus and boss battles powering up all Django or Otenko related attacks (GunDelSol 1,2,3 and EX, Django Battlechip series except for DjangoDS, Otenko battlechip, PileDriver Program Advance, MegaMan's GunDelSol Charge Shot). This cross is always active as long as Boktai 2 remains in the GBA slot.
^Sol Cross MegaMan (Django + MegaMan synthesis)
  • Microphone Communication: This game incorporates the DS's microphone. Cheer MegaMan on and, depending on the situation, something will happen. If MegaMan is normal, and you cheer him on he might enter full snychro. If MegaMan is struggling, you can get MegaMan back to normal status and possibly to full synchro or recover HP. If in Dark Soul, you will have to try really hard to get MegaMan back to normal and out of dark soul or just become enraged at the enemy instead of being evil. It depends on you!

  • Voice Acting: In this game Lan, MegaMan, ProtoMan, and Colonel all have Voice actors. The voice acting is based off the Anime, however the English voices were not the actual voice actors from MegaMan NT Warrior.
Voice Talent (NA/EU/AU versions):
  • Lan Hikari- Mark Gatha
  • MegaMan.EXE- Jeffrey Watson
  • ProtoMan.EXE- Tommy James
  • Colonel.EXE- Tommy James
Voice Talent (JP/Asia versions):
  • Hikari Netto- Higa Kumiko
  • Rockman.EXE- Kimura Akiko
  • Blues.EXE- Matsukaze Masuya
  • Colonel.EXE- Yasumoto Hiroki
  • Transport Chips: Known as TP chips, these are used in Liberation Missions to transfer Navi's from a different version of the game into the one you are currently playing as long as they correspond to each other. Hate NumberMan? Transfer SearchMan. Hate MagnetMan? Transfer KnightMan. Don't want to deal with GyroMan? Transfer ShadowMan Want to switch Leaders? You can do that too. With this feature you can literally create your own BN 5 Dream Team. Transfered Navi's stay until you sub them out again or the Liberation Mission ends, whichever comes first.

  • Finally look at the E3 2005 Trailer for the game:

this game got mixed reviews here in the US but all in all the gameplay is great.
This game plays better than the GBA version in my opinion. Out of a possible 10 points I give MegaMan Battle Network 5 Double Team DS: 9.5/10. The PET felt realistic, Bass Cross rocks, 3-D modeling is great. Voice acting is very well executed in my opinion, and it takes advange of most of the DS's features including the mircophone, which seems to be forgotten in a lot of games. The DS exclusives make this one of the best Battle Network titles. This is a needed game for any die hard Battle Network fan, or even someone wanting to play the series for the first time.

(note: The reason I don't give it 10/10 is because there is no wifi compatability only local wireless gameplay. Only people within 50 feet of you can battle you. While this game takes advantage of almost all parts of the DS, wifi isn't one of them. That is the only disappointing thing about this title)

He did not want to lose his son so soon, so he implanted Hub's DNA and soul into a netnavi shell called, "MEGAMAN.EXE" and intended to give it to Lan so he would always have one brother watching out for the other. The project was of course successful and gave Hub a new life that is one he his happy to have because he gets to be with his brother Lan to watch over, help, and protect him. Mix that with ProtoMan's sword and you can pretty much say that if ProtoMan sees you as a threat to society, expect to get deleted. He hates Lan for intruding in his business and developed a rivalry with him and is noted as saying that if Lan ever again comes between him and any of his job again he will not hesitate to delete MegaMan. Chaud shows no emotions whatsoever and says about that, "The weak so emotion. Strength comes from training and emotion is the key to losing. There is no such word as mercy in my vocabulary." Chaud can quickly assess any situation and figure out plans in a matter of seconds. He is definately one tough competitor for only being 11 showing courage and smarts of a man more than double his age.

It can be noted that he and Lan share their athletic abilities but not brains. Hub is the smarter of the two and that is not because Hub is a netnavi. Thanks to Lan, MegaMan has beenable to train himself and get stronger as a result. MegaMan has gotten many rivals thank to his brother and he is happy that he gets challenges. She, after meeting Geo, became more confident in her abilities and joined up with him in his fight against the FM-ians during the FM-ian invasion of Earth. She later helped Geo get through the Bermuda Maze to lead him to the continent of Mu where he was to meet in a head to head fight against the "EM Wave God", Le Mu. She joined with the Satella Police alongside Geo and helped in stopping Dealer's advancement but was unable to join Geo in the fight because the noise level was too high for her and her body would not be able to hold the pressure. She secretly has a crush on Geo and hides it well in her songs (see "Shooting Star" at the end of the Diamond Ice Scenario of Star Force 3). She, however, is trying to muster up the courage to tell him of her love for him and hopes that Geo feels the same. She wants to get strong so she can fight alongside him no matter how strong the enemy. In a terms of speed she is often compared to ProtoMan.EXE. When in her wave form Sonia goes from weighing a very light 85 pounds to weighing 0 pounds. She uses her music as her main weapon. Her music is literally very beautiful and deadly.

Eos) and has destroyed many threats that have threatened the planet including the "EM Wave God" Le Mu and the "Noise Meteor" known as Meteor Grave (or "Meteor G" for short). Just recently in his time, he has celebrated the return of his Father Kelvin and is once again living as a happy-go-lucky boy. But what awaits him when he is taken aback in time 2oo years?

Rockman.EXE Operate Shooting Star Character Profiles #00002:Mayl Sakurai

EXE OSS CHARACTER PROFILES #00002: MAYL SAKURAI
Name: Mayl Sakurai (Sakurai Meiru in Japan)
Gender: Female
Age: 10
NetNavi/Wizard: Roll.EXE
Description: She is Lan's classmate, nextdoor neighbor, childhood friend, best friend, and sisterly figure. She met Lan only minutes after her arrival home from the hospital as a newborn and they immediately became close. As far as anyone knows she is the only one of Lan's friends to see and know his twin brother, Hub, before his untimely death. She was born of a Netopian man and a Japanese woman and she can speak Netopian and Japanese almost completely fluently (Netopia is the games version of North America). She has hidden affections for Lan and is shy to openly admit them. She is a big supporter of Lan, but isn't afraid to yell at him when she thinks he is well over his head, but she know it will go in one ear and out the other. But she tells herself "that's what I love about him, he never likes to give up (blush)". She operates Roll.EXE who is not known to many as a fighting navi but rather as a great healing type of navi although she is training Roll to be able to fight by MegaMan's side whenever he may need it, just to let Lan know that he is never alone in his fights, that as his best friend is always their to support him. She can't wait to surprise Lan!

(as we all know at the age of 20 she marries Lan and at the age of 22 gives birth to their only son Patch but that is much later. These are their EXE 1 profiles, a decade before their marriage and 2 years before Mayl openly admits her feelings.)

Rockman.EXE Operate Shooting Star Character Profiles #00001: Lan Hikari

As EXE OSS's release date comes closer. I have decided to post character profiles for all character starting with Lan Hikari.

EXE OSS CHARACTER PROFILES #00001: LAN HIKARI
Name: Lan Hikari (Hikari Netto in Japan)
Gender: Male
Age:10
NetNavi/Wizard: MegaMan.EXE (Rockman.EXE in Japan)
Description: The 10 year old protagonist of the series. He is the son of Yuichiro Hikari, one of the worlds top scientists, and his wife Haruka. Lan's older twin brother, Hub (Saito in Japan), died at the age of 2 from complications of a rare heart diasease called HBD. Lan has an ambition to become the world's all time greatest netbattler and spends most of his time virus busting on the internet instead of doing homework. He is known to many as a "spaz" who at times (to be accurate, most times) likes to ignore any and all sets of rules set before him. Besides netbattling Lan likes inline skating and soccer. His favorite food is curry. Lan despite being obnoxious and hardheaded at times is a very compassionate person who would do anything for his friends and family. His connection to his netnavi is probably the closest connection anyone could have, especially when he found out that MegaMan was actually his older twin brother. His biggest rival is Chaud and his netnavi ProtoMan, but he as received many other rivals as well. He also has shown an ambition to being a scientist like his father and grandfather. He also has feeling for his best friend Mayl, who he's known since he was 5 weeks old, but is in fact too shy to say anything and brushes it off by joking about his closeness to her.

ClockMan.EXE's Main Motive

For those who may want to know ClockMan's motive here is it is:

According to the official site to Rockman.EXE Operate Shooting Star, ClockMan's main motive is to change the course of history. In other words this means actually going back in time to the Life Virus incident 200 years previous and doing something. What it is is unknown. This continues to bring up the question "ClockMan, Good or Evil." I know he's Clark, but still the program "ClockPGM" could have corrupted his data, turning this nice wizard into an evil NetNavi.

Why go back in time to the time of the Life Virus and not Alpha, Duo, or Nebula Grey. Whatever the reason we will find out soon enough.

EXE OSS Official Site Gets Minor (or Major depending on how you look at it) Update

Rockman.EXE Operate Shooting Star's official Japanese site has gotten updated. Now a new site skin replaced the old intro that showed both Rockmen holding hands behind a gold background after going over the 6.5 million unit sales for the Rockman.EXE series in Japan.

The main screen- which can be linked here: http://www.capcom.co.jp/rockman/exe_oss/ds.html shows a variety of overworld screenshots including two that show Geo talking to Lan and Mayl at Mayl's house (seen at the bottom). The first one at the left roughly translated says, "You might not believe where I came from... 200 Years from now. My name is Rockman." The rough translation from the second one with Lan says, "The future! Nice to met you, I'm Netto."

This screen shot below is of the dual screen shows Shooting Star Rockman running on the internet road of ACDC Area 1. The map of the area is seen below it on the bottom screen to guide you through the area, in similar fashion to Rockman.EXE 5 DS- Twin Leaders (MegaMan Battle Network 5- Double Team DS) though this map is a lot more detailed even going as far to show you the access points and cyber shops.
(as a side note the link above also gives you a little info on the mysterious Clockman.EXE)

There are also sections of the site which link to summaries of both the EXE (Battle Network) and Ryuusei (Star Force) video game series.
-for EXE: http://www.capcom.co.jp/rockman/exe_oss/exe.html. You will be welcomed by a Mr. Program. It mainly talks the GBA game from 2001- Battle Network Rockman.EXE. Mr. Program will link you to the EXE video game series official site.

-for RnR: http://www.capcom.co.jp/rockman/exe_oss/ryusei.html. You will see Clark there. This mainly talks the 2008 DS game- Ryuusei no Rockman 3: Black Ace/Red Joker. Clark will even link you to the official site for the Ryuusei video game series.

This link send you to a staff discussion blog:http://www.capcom.co.jp/rockman/exe_oss/brain.html . There is no region restiction so no matter where you are you can email a question to the game staff. It is not recommended unless you live in Japan because they are only looking to answer questions for their Japanese and Korean audiences. If you want to ask a question and you live in North America, wait until Capcom USA announces the game and sets up the US site.

Also the official Nintendo Wifi logo is seen nowhere on the site. This probably is an indication that this game will have no wifi capatability though local wireless battling has been confirmed as mentioned in an earlier report.

Clark Unvails Program Responsible for Clockman.EXE

"Hi. Welcome to the Secret Sattelite Server. I am Clark."

Good old Clark has done it again. The wizard responsible for welcoming us to the Secret Satellite Server has once again given us another sneak peek into Rockman.EXE Operate Shooting Star. This time Clark revealed a trial program called ClockPGM (or Clock Program- very basic name, but so was AcePrgm and JokerPrgm in SF3- go figure good programs have very basic names in this series) which "grants the user control over time" in the literal sense of the words "control" and "time".

Apparently, Clark seems a little nervous and excited at the same time when Arthur C. Eos (Ace) decides to give it to him, because he gets to help out the Satella Police.

here is a translated quote given by my friend GoldenMegaEXE:

Clark: "Ace told me that he chose me to bear the program because I was in 'good and safe condition'. "

However this is not good news in a way because Clark seems to be struggling to use the program and the message abuptly ends with Clark going through a warp hole.
Clark before the warp hole sucked him in. He is struggling with the program. It could be rewritting his programming turning this wizard into a NetNavi. Clark is about to become ClockMan.EXE.

(note: On Japan's Secret Satellite Server, not the North American)

More OSS News and Rumors: Multiplayer Functionality and Much More!

More news has come in on Rockman.EXE Operate Shooting Star, though not really as important as some other info from recent days.

-There has been confirmation of Multiplayer Functionality in terms of Local Wireless gameplay as seen in BN 5 Double Team DS. There has not been confirmation as of late whether or not the game will include Wifi compatablity or something like the Brotherband function.

-Also being used are the 2001 graphics from Battle Network 1 and 2008-09 graphics from Star Force 3. This is to give into the feeling of going back in time.

-Battle Network 1 storyline is used and is changed a little bit to include MegaMan SF, Roll.EXE, and HarpNote in it. No word if Roll or HarpNote are playable characters.

Some OSS Rumors (don't think these are real until I get official word, then I will let you know)-
provided by GoldenMegaEXE:

-MegaMan.EXE and Omega-Xis are rumored to give the game controls tutorial at the games start.

-New rumored secret bosses are Zero and Life Virus R (Network Transmission), but no official word from Capcom.

-Rumored use of both Battle Cards and Battle Chips. There also is rumor of "Fusion" and "Crossover" chips and cards. No word on what they would do.

-There is a rumor that there could be the Return of Bass Cross MegaMan if you have a DS (not the DSi) and BN's 4-6 in the GBA slot with a Bass Icon on the title screen.

-Armor system is going to be used on MegaMan.EXE. Noise Force will remain with Geo.

-HarpNote, Roll, and ClockMan are fightable bosses.

-Rogue will not be fightable in this game, but may make a cameo.

-References to the anime's crossfusion may be used in the game (not actual crossfusion- reference only)

-There is rumors that state that there will be references to MegaMan X, quite possibily spoilers or references to a new Capcom MegaMan project after this title.

ClockMan.EXE's Real Identity?

While searching the internet in Japan, my friend Dean (GoldenMegaEXE- the creator of project stream) saw another teaser for Operate Shooting Star on the Japanese secret satellite server.

Here was a message from Clark, the wizard welcoming you there:
"A while back I mentioned something about a "program that can control time" but it seems like they somehow completed a prototype! Then, Ace comes to me and asks of all things 'Clark, if you’d like, would you want that program installed in you?' It seems to be for data collecting, but to get a program like that installed… I get kind of a special feeling. Hmm, but why would Ace choose me? "

Is this a clue that Ace installs the program in Clark turning him into a netnavi. Not just any netnavi but ClockMan.EXE. This also means that ClockMan.EXE is one of the good guys unless Wily takes control of him when they get to 20XX, which is highly unlikely seeing that the technology in ClockMan -if it is Clark- is too advanced for Wily to manipulate.

Clark could be ClockMan.EXE in RockMan.EXE: Operate Shooting Star. Arthur C. Eos is quite possibly the one to thank. Why was Clark chosen?

In this screenshot from the game Clockman.EXE (Clark?) could actually be giving our four protagonists (MegaMan.EXE, MegaMan SF, Roll.EXE, and HarpNote) a mission to stop WWW or some other threat, giving them 32 hours, 8 minutes and 12 seconds to complete it before the worst happens. So it is a really high possibility that ClockMan is one of the good guys.

Please comment.

MegaMan Star Force 3 Sales: Getting Higher than Heaven

MegaMan Star Force 3 Last week sold yet another 9000 copies. This brings the grand total of games sold in the US to roughly 76,000 Units. The series is getting closer to the coveted 100,000 unit level, but I doubt it will make it there, especially in this economy as people do have better things to do than buy video games. It would be nice though for capcom.

Fun Fact:

MegaMan Star Force 3 has already sold more units world wide than Star Forces 1 and 2 combined! Capcom has not seen sales like this for a handheld MegaMan game since Battle Network. A good sign for Both series considering their crossover thats coming soon.

Star Force 3: It's What The People Want

Again Star Force 3 saw an unbelieveable week of sales. As of right now over 67,000 Units (to be exact 67,319) were sold in the US. From July 25-Aug.1 another 11,000 units were sold. I talked to people earlier this week that I saw having their own wave battle tournament and asked them what they think of the game. The girl in the group told me was that this is their first Star Force game and they loved it. They originally got it because they just wanted to understand SF so when they got Battle Network Operate Shooting Star they would have no problem with the story. She then told me after playing it for about 30 minutes they all got hooked. Boy has Capcom turned this series around. Now "BN Only" fans are becoming SF fans. Can anyone else see BN OSS getting over 100,000+ sold units in the US alone when it gets released?

ClockMan.EXE screencapture preview?

^this screencap from the game reads "By the way, I expect this plan to be fulfilled in 32 hours, 8 minutes and 12 seconds!!". Roll.EXE and HarpNote stand right beside him on either side. Did he take them hostage or are they working for him? Is he good or evil? What the hell does that quote mean!?

Take A Look: September Coro Coro Scans

^This scan here shows two screenshots of the intro to the game. It looks to be an opening combining elements of BN5 DS and SF2. No word on the intro opening theme song but it is Rumored to either be Rockman.EXE's first season theme or Song of Victory from Beast. I do know the main theme is a remix of BN's theme. It also includes the final design of Clock Man (aka Clock Genesis) and his area of the net. Damn, clocks are everywhere on that navi. they should have named him Flava FlavMan.

^This can shows a couple screenshots from the game. Look closely and you see Geo as MegaMan talking to Lan and Mayl. You will also notice that Lan's avatar is not the same one from BN1like originally thought but is a new one. This page also indicates that this game takes place after Star Force 3 with the design of MegaMan SF and the avatar used. The game will use a BN1-3 style border for the game script.

^this final scan from Page 142 shows the dual screen of the game. You can see that the internet is the same design as BN1 with the addition of the touch screen map that includes the name of the area. One picture on the right shows Geo walking in ACDC Area 1 as MegaMan. This shows that Geo can be MegaMan in both the Real and Cyberworlds (but now word on how he jacks-in.)
The second picture shows Geo in the Hikari's Doghouse (the security doghouse that used to belong to Gow if you didn't know- source BN5).

List of official characters:
Lan and MegaMan.EXE
Mayl and Roll
Dex and GutsMan
Chaud and ProtoMan
Geo and Omega-Xis (no word if they leave MegaMan form- my friend won't tell me)
Harp Note (no word if you actually see sonia- same reason as above)
Dr. Hikari
Masa and SharkMan
All of the original World 3 members and navis
Sal and WoodMan
Miyu and SkullMan
ClockMan
cameos by other star force characters
any other Bn1 characters that I am missing, I just don't feel like writing them all but to give you some others not that important female characters:
Ms. Yuri (not the one we remember from Axess or Stream- no NeedleMan)
Ms.Mari (no word if she gives the tutorial like in BN's 1-2)
Haruka Hikari (says hi, bye, be careful Lan, cooks Lan breakfast and bothers him by teasing about his friendship with Mayl...so really the same she has always been, just his mom.)

It's Official: Operate Shooting Star Official Data

September's Coro Coro revealed official info on this megaman battle network/megaman star force
crossover title:

-MegaMan.EXE and SF MegaMan are both playable.

-ClockMan (a navi from the future) and interacts with BN characters and also has his own area on the net.

-Graphics are from BN1 in terms of sprite design

-Touch screen has a map of the internet.

Unfortunately there was no word on the battle style. Maybe next month guys.

I will post more info later including scans from Coro Coro.
